Distinguishing the Certificate from Current Test Reports
JT/T 280-2004 has been replaced by JT/T 280-2022, effective December 9, 2022. The standard printed on an older certificate should remain accurately identified.
An older certification record and a newer product test report serve different purposes. A report referencing the 2022 edition does not, by itself, update the certification basis or expand the certified product range.
Buyers should review the model, sample identification, test methods and results in each document. For overseas projects, the required local standard and acceptance criteria must also be confirmed.
Safety and Export Transport Information
Product performance certification does not determine transport classification.
For solvent-based paint, review the current Safety Data Sheet, including its transport information, before arranging shipment. Any applicable dangerous goods classification, packaging, labeling and carrier requirements should be confirmed for the actual product and transport route.
Sample shipments also require this review. A small sample quantity should not be assumed to qualify for ordinary courier transport.
